air conditioning Re-Gas
What does air conditioning do?
Your air conditioning system cleans, dries and cools the air in the cabin, giving you a comfortable driving environment.
In the summer months, having a cool car makes for a better driving experience and using your air-con may be less expensive in terms of fuel usage than having your window open. In the winter your air-con will help you de-mist and de-humidify the car more quickly.

Servicing the air conditioning system is not normally included in a standard service however it does often receive heavy use particularly throughout the summer. It is important not to neglect this system as you may start to notice stale smells and the bacteria trapped in the system can aggravate allergies.
When we perform a full system re-gas we empty the system completely and refill it with clean gas which will ensure your air-con stays fresher for longer. Our IMI approved air-con technicians offer an all-year round leak test and re-gas if needed, replacing refrigerant, PAG oil, and UV dye when necessary.
It is estimated that around 10% of the refrigerant in your air-con system escapes every year. We recommend recharging your system every 2 years to keep it working at full capacity.
We offer this service at all our branches. The process will take around an hour, and can be completed while you wait.
Please note we can only assist with hybrid or electric vehicles at the following locations:

For £25 we carry out a pressure test and check of your air conditioning system. This includes a nitrogen leak test if required to ensure there are no leaks/faults.
If there is a fault, we can then give you an accurate quote of what it will cost to repair.
Around 10% of refrigerant gas can naturally seep out of your air conditioning system each year, and if there is insufficient refrigerant charge, not only can your system not operate effectively, but it could potentially lead to internal system damage.
If it turns out that there is no leak, and the system just requires a re-gas service, then this would be £59 inc VAT (for vehicles that use the R134a gas) and the £25 for the pressure/nitrogen test will not be charged for.
Vehicles that use R1234YF gas are priced per vehicle depending on system capacity. Please ask your local branch for a quote.
An air conditioning service involves recharging the system with gas and lubricant as well as removing all moisture and debris.
