For the last four years we have been part of the Big School Showdown, an exciting competition organised by the team at Heart Yorkshire. This year 34 local school teachers were nominated by their pupils to take part in the 10-question quick-fire quiz to win everyone in their class a bike courtesy of us here at Wilco Motosave.
The competition has been on Heart Yorkshire for the last seven weeks, with schools all across Yorkshire getting involved.
The time has come to announce the winner! Drum roll please …
Miss Williamson, a teacher at Green Meadows School in Guiseley, Leeds came out on top answering all 10 questions correctly in an impressive 29.3 seconds, very narrowly beating Mr Lynn from Whitecote Primary School Leeds (29.7 seconds!)
Green Meadows School is part of the North West SILC, community special schools that offer fantastic learning opportunities for children with a range of complex learning difficulties.
Breakfast show hosts Dixie and Emma presented Miss Williamson’s class with their bikes, along with a heritage cycle from the Wilco BiKE range for the teacher herself.
We want all the lucky new bike owners to stay safe while enjoying their prizes, so helmets and stabilisers were also provided, courtesy of Oxford Products – a leading supplier of quality cycling accessories.
