Big School Showdown

Updated: June 2017 – this year’s competition is now live! Find out more here.

Those of you who are Heart Yorkshire radio listeners will know that over the last few weeks we have been part of Heart Yorkshire’s Big School Showdown! The competition was run over 10 weeks with 46 schools entering. Each school teacher had been nominated by their pupils to take part in the 10-question quick-fire quiz to see who was the smartest school in Yorkshire with the quickest time! We were very proud to be the sponsors of such a popular breakfast time quiz.
Mr Bogle, from Primrose Hill Primary School in Pudsey, answered all 10 questions correctly in just 29 seconds, topping the leaderboard to win the prize haul of bikes provided by ourselves at Wilco Motosave. It was a very close call at one point with just two seconds in it!

Dixie & Emma invited us to visit the primary school on a beautiful sunny afternoon last week where we delivered over 30 bikes to class Y1B – and a very happy Mr Bogle! Everyone at Primrose Hill Primary School was thrilled to win such a fantastic prize and Headteacher Lesley West added: “As a school we spend a lot of time teaching children to cycle and this will really help them to be safe on the roads in the future.”
Mr Bogle, who was presented with a trophy by Heart Yorkshire Breakfast Show host Emma Lenney yesterday, said: “What an amazing gift to give the children before the summer holidays.” As one child described it “the best day of my life!!!” Take a look at the smiles on everyone’s faces in our gallery below…
