In previous years, Dixie & Emma’s ‘Big School Showdown’ at Heart Yorkshire has provided an opportunity for primary school teachers to win a brand-new bike from us for every member of their school class.
Former winning schools include Green Meadows School in Guiseley, High Town Junior & Infant School in Liversedge and Wakefield Methodist School.
With the current lockdown situation and home schooling now the norm, the competition was relaunched in 2020 as Dixie & Emma’s ‘Home School Showdown.’
Each weekday, a nominated child joined Dixie & Emma’s ‘virtual school class’ and took part in a ten question quick-fire quiz. Five correct answers won them a brand-new bike and safety helmet.
Over the course of 7 weeks, 33 Yorkshire children each won a brand new bike, with 10 year old Evie Wright from Lofthouse crowned Head Girl of the ‘virtual school class’ for recording the fastest time.
