From 2012, car regulations changed and manufacturers no longer have to include a spare wheel with new cars. In an effort to reduce weight, increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, many new vehicles are now not being supplied with a spare wheel and instead, some manufacturers are choosing to provide just a tyre repair kit.
Tyre slime or inflation foam can be useful but won’t repair a blowout, unrepairable puncture or structural damage to the tyre or wheel itself. In some cases, a so-called ‘mobility kit’ will do, but many people feel more comfortable and enjoy the peace of mind that carrying a space saver wheel kit can bring.

Each RoadHero Space Saver Wheel Kit is engineered for a specific vehicle fitment. Please note that, unless otherwise stated, it does not matter what size your original wheels are – the overall rolling radius of this space saver wheel and tyre will be correct for your car. The wheel and tyre size and combination are specific to the vehicle and each kit will either be direct-fit, or be supplied with the necessary fixings to ensure a perfect fit.

Please note that a Space Saver wheel kit is a piece of emergency kit and should only be used to get you back on the road and safely on your way to see a tyre specialist. The maximum speed limit for a vehicle fitted with a space saver wheel and tyre is 50 mph (80 km/h).
